One of the rare voices of genuine contralto on the music scene today, Sara Mingardo regularly collaborates with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Ivor Bolton, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Colin Davis, John Eliot Gardiner, Riccardo Muti, Trevor Pinnock, Christophe Rousset, Jordi Savall, Jeffrey Tate and Rinaldo Alessandrini. Her repertoire includes works by Gluck, Monteverdi, Handel, Vivaldi, Rossini, Verdi, Cavalli, Mozart, Donizetti, Schumann and Berlioz. Particularly active in concert, she has a vast repertoire ranging from Pergolesi to Respighi, through Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak and Mahler. She was awarded the prestigious Premio Abbiati in 2009.

Future plans: Bach’s Mass in B minor at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Antonio Pappano; Kindertotenlieder in Bologna under Claudio Abbado; Mendelssohn’s Symphony no.2 “Lobgesang” at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome under Claudio Abbado; Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno with Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini on a European tour; Caccini’s Euridice at the Innsbruck Festival with Rinaldo Alessandrini; Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria (Penelope) in Paris (under Rinaldo Alessandrini) and in Zurich (under Ivor Bolton); L'Orfeo in Paris with Rinaldo Alessandrini; concerts in Frankfurt, Bordeaux, Lisbon.

After winning the "A. Belli” Competition in Spoleto, Umberto Chiummo made his debut in Le Nozze di Figaro, staged by Gigi Proietti. Much appreciated also for his qualities as an actor, he performs in major opera houses and festivals in Italy and abroad, collaborating with conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Bruno Campanella, Myung-Whun Chung, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti and Wolfgang Sawallisch. Recent engagements include: La Calisto at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Agrippina at the Teatro Real in Madrid and in Antwerp, Giulio Cesare alongside Cecilia Bartoli with William Christie and Les Arts Florissants in Paris. He has recorded Rodelinda, Ariodante, Don Giovanni (Telarc), I Capuleti e i Montecchi (BMG) with Roberto Abbado, Werther (BMG) under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski.

  

Future plans: Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo; Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI under Ivor Bolton.
